so basically interested in opinions on:
- Colours
- Lighting
- Game config
- motion blur

also opinions on resolution and compression/quality are welcome, but i'm fairly comfortable with that part of the process

Little too dark maybe. Nice jump btw

Opinion 1: Don't use rapidshare please.
2: That is SUPER dark, and very difficult to see what is going on.
3. IMO muzzleflash and wolfparticles -> turn on.
4. The colors looked decent, but like #2, it was too dark to really tell.


How much of that was done with game config and how much was done via video editing software?

Edit:
After watching it a few more times, it feels as if thats how base would really look if i was there in terms of lighting. Its bright only where there are lights in the game, but still a little too dark (I can't even see the zone 3 house).

1: Noted. I've had some issues with filefront and uploading. Which site would you suggest?

2: thats noticeably darker in those pics than it is for me when i play it back

I'm using media player classic home theatre and when i go through it frame by frame the z3 house is in shade but not nearly so covered in darkness. But When I take a screenshot of it through its save image feature it produces the same level of darkness as in those pics. I also don't recall it looking quite so dark in afterFX

3: whoops didn't even notice wolfparticles was off. Muzzle flash was something I realised after taking the screenshots and intend to have when I get around to proper recording.


I'll post up a couple of before and after editing shots to show you how much editing was done. All of the detail was already in the screenshots, it just needed to be brought out with a bit of tweaking in afterfx

Basically what i did was played with the histogram (levels) and colour curves to boost the contrast/adjust luminance. Then duplicated layer, set the top one an overlay and added some stylize-> glow

I will certainly upload to a streaming site (probably own3d) for the finished product. I didn't think that it was a good idea for this little clip because it defeats the purpose of maintaining the quality. I'm more interested in opinions of the people that are happy to download a file, that's my target audience

That scene was taken with demowatch mod in 1.4, but i've taken a bit of a shine to certain features in the new sandmod. Hitsound and blood are a + for me, the only problem I have with it is I can't get rid of the round timer top left. Cg_draw2d 0 seems to cause a crash (not immediately, but it has always and only happened after doing cg_draw2d 0). I've noticed I've got a few entries in the s4ndcrash log so i'll get around to sending that in shortly

And happy B'day btw (according to rtcwcheaters). Probably a day early cause of aussie timezones
